Good and healthy food especially for winters
Winters are the time when we all are wrapped in heavy woolens to save our self from the chilly weather outside. In such a situation if we take the right foods, we can keep our body healthy, warm and glowing. In winters pulses, rice, grain, cabbage, leeks and root vegetables should be preferred over other foods. Foods like fish and that including fats also help. Dry fruits are also a good source for the body.
Winter seasons have different definitions for different cultures. The Chinese culture believes that winters us the time when there is most yin (energy) and the nature sleeps at this time and prepares itself showing that the warmth is inside. This is considered a good time to rest or indulge in learning activities as well.
They believe that life energies should be focused upon when winters come. In this season, one should take pleasure and enjoy life while staying calm.
Winters are the best time to have soups. You can enjoy every sip in the chilly season and also take in a lot of nutrients. Soups are considered healthy as well. Different vegetables can be used separately or mixed together to make soup. After boiling the vegetables, they can be blended and on top of it, black pepper and black salt can be added. Pumpkin, cauliflower, beans etc can be used to make soups and can provide great warmth and nutrition to the body especially in winters.
Different kind of pastas are very tasty to eat and the sauces (whether white or red) make it more tasty. Spaghetti, Spaghetti, tagliatelle, penne, macaroni, linguine and conchiglie are different kind of pastas and differ in shapes. Vegetables can be added and take in all the nutrients in the body.
Pizzas are liked by many people. They can be kept in the refrigerator and heated in microwaves. When served hot they taste awesome. Sprinkled with tomatoes, peppers, chilly, chicken, vegetables, cheese and oregano, they are perfect to eat in winters.
Casseroles are also good in winters as they have a lot of onions, carrots, tomatoes, broccoli, beans, cabbage lamb chops etc. Black pepper can be used as flavoring.
